Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using ImpactBadge ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must also agree on your behalf. If you are under 13, parental consent is required before using the Service.

2. The Service

ImpactBadge provides a platform for students to discover volunteer opportunities, track service hours, and export verified records. We also provide tools for schools, nonprofits, and parents to manage and verify volunteer activity.

3. Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password
• You must not share your account or impersonate another user
• School-managed accounts (via Clever SSO) are subject to the school's acceptable use policies

4. Volunteer Hour Verification

ImpactBadge provides tools for tracking and verifying volunteer hours but does not guarantee the accuracy of self-reported hours. Verification depends on supervisor confirmation, GPS check-in data, and organizational approval. Schools and colleges make their own determinations about accepting ImpactBadge records.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit false or misleading volunteer hours
• Use the Service to harass, bully, or harm other users
• Upload inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Use automated tools to scrape or manipulate the Service
• Circumvent check-in verification (e.g., GPS spoofing)

6. Content You Upload

You retain ownership of content you create (reflections, photos, reviews). By uploading content, you grant ImpactBadge a license to store, display, and process it as necessary to provide the Service. You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

7. School & Organization Accounts

Schools and organizations using ImpactBadge agree to use student data only for legitimate educational and volunteer management purposes. They must comply with FERPA, COPPA, and applicable state privacy laws. Data access is limited to students within their organization.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, data accuracy, or that the Service will meet specific requirements. ImpactBadge is not responsible for decisions made by schools, colleges, or organizations based on volunteer records.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ImpactBadge's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. For free accounts, this is $0.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
